Progress on the Katova High School in the Solomon Islands is moving forward and we are working towards the objective of the school commencing in 2020. Please consider if you are able to participate in these trips.

Some brief details about the upcoming trip are below;
Building, ministry, medical, education and children’s ministry
Depart: Advance Team – Tuesday 30th June, 2020 Main Team – Thursday 2nd of July, 2020
Return: Main Team – Thursday 16th of July, 2020 Remaining Team – Thursday 23rd of July, 2020
This will be a large and dynamic team that will complete the second classroom, run medical programs, run children’s programs and run a ministry training program. Team members will consist of young and older members who are able to assist in any of the project areas.
Things to consider
Some of the things you should consider if you are thinking about joining one of these teams are;
• You will travel to a third world country and an extremely remote location. There is no internet or phone contact whilst you are in the village. The team leader will have a Satphone and provide regular updates to people in Australia • You will be staying in basic accommodation and sleeping in shared areas on a mattress on the floor. Food is provided by is basic and limited as there is no refrigeration or shops available • You will be in an area that has a high malaria risk and will need to take preventative medication. • Cost for the trip is around $1850 which includes meals, airfares, travel insurance, transport and accommodation. • 325 people have now participated in these trips over the last 15 years.
